The green pinafore with ribbons and bows is appliquéd and stitched in golden thread. Meg likes it especially well because it looks good with her red hair and as Louisa says, she can put any color of flowers or even fall leaves with it and they will all look nice. The color reminds Meg of the cool mint the girls like to pick at Mint Springs in Ginger Brook Hollow.
